Can it be? Milwaukee Pollutes *Less* Than Madison?

According to Urban Milwaukee, which refers to a brief Journal Sentinel article, yes.

“On a per capita basis, metro Milwaukee produces fewer greenhouse gas emissions than Madison and other cities of comparable size, such as Kansas City and Indianapolis.”

Which reminds me, there was a meeting today by some city personelle about making the former Army Reserve base in Bay View into a “solar city,” perhaps a solar power plant. We do get more sunlight than you might think here, and I’ve thought for a while that the city and indeed the county good do a lot of good by putting solar panels atop their buildings. A wide-spread solar investment would quickly pay for itself as fuel and energy costs continue to rise.

I am a resident of the Bay View neighborhood in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a member of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors. That sometimes comes up on here, as it's kind of a small part of my life. No official county business happens here. I'm mostly using this now to give a rough draft account of how we're dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. God help us all.
