Drunken driving charges are pending this morning against a Plymouth man accused of killing a 16-year-old girl in a hit-and-run accident around 9:30 p.m. in the Town of Scott, the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department said today.

James R. Hunt, 19, [emphasis added] faces a charge of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle and hit and run, causing a death. He was arrested in the nearby Village of Cascade, shortly after the accident, around 9:30 p.m.

According to the sheriff’s department, the girl was walking north with friends along the shoulder of Highway S, near Highway W when she was struck from behind by a car.

She died at the scene. Her identity is being withheld until family is notified, but authorities said she is from the northwest part of Sheboygan County.

The fatality remains under investigation.
