Amy Goodman Unlawfully Arrested at RNC

This is frightening and outrageous.

Amy Goodman, journalist and co-host of the independent radio news program Democracy Now!, has been violently arrested at the Republican National Convention in in St. Paul. She has been charged with obstruction of a legal process and interference with a “peace officer,” while two Democracy Now! producers were arrested on suspicion of rioting, which is a felony.

A video of Goodman’s arrest has been posted. How is she obstructing or interfering with a “peace officer”?

Update: Goodman was released after being charged with a misdemeanor. Her colleagues Salazar and Kouddous were hurt in the face and the elbow by the police.
