Biking from Bay View to UWM — it’s easy!

According to teh Google, UWM is 6.5 miles from where I live in Bay View. Today, I took that ride via bicycle. And it was great! I took KK up to First Street, and that to Pittsburgh, through the Fifth Ward and past the Summerfest grounds, and up along the lakeshore. I didn’t know that some of the areas back there even existed! Before I knew it the magnificent wings of the Milwaukee Art Museum and Calitrava Center were rising over my bike and a sparkling Lake Michigan lay on my right. Moments later I was approaching Veterans Park and Lafayette Hill!  I cruised straight up the big hill on Lincoln Memorial, which wasn’t that bad via bike, and got to UWM with a HUGE grin on my face. I showered at the Klotche Center and now have an hour or so to kill before my first class. WOOHOO!!@#!

  1. Yeah. UWM has the advantage of being a large institution with its athletic facility on campus, though I’m not sure how many smaller business could afford to install a shower and the necessary safety setup that would go along with it. Then again, it’s not like it costs tens of thousands of dollars, right?

It also turns out that I’m within a year of graduating, meaning this question will be of greater importance to me in the near future. ;->
