Go vote today, Milwaukeeans and Wisconsinites!

Today’s primary election will decide a few elections in Milwaukee and southeast Wisconsin. In some Milwaukee races, a few ultraconservatives are running as faux Democrats. I’ve previously endorsed Chris Sinicki for the State Assemblys’ 20th district. Pedro Colón also faces challengers running as Democrats. If you live in the 5th Congressional District, most of which is west of Milwaukee, Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner faces one Republican and one Independent candidate. Doug Cvetkovich is now running against Sensenbrenner as a write-in candidate under the Democratic Party flag. Chances are that Republican Jim Burkee and Independent Robert Raymond will get more votes, as they are actually on the ballot, but surprises can happen. The primary decides the winners in all of these races. So please do vote! Journal Sentinel has articles on all the local and state races to help you sort out who’s who.

(When I was in fourth grade, my elementary school class learned about the government, and how we were represented in Congress by one Mr. F. Jim Sensenbrenner. Sixteen years later, I move back to Milwaukee, and he’s still in there!)
