Growing call for a Walker recall

As capper noted, there’s been a strong call for a recall of Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker. Mr. Walker has made a slow but steady effort to kill what parts of the county government he could and privatize what he can’t. He would have gotten his way if it weren’t for the meddling County Board! Walker’s latest horrible misstep was to say that the County does not need the money that President-Elect Obama is going to deem for local governments to use. We can solve our own problems, Walker said, and to use government money would only make more trouble. But it would be a mistake to believe that Walker has done anything to solve our problems. Instead, he has made them worse, much worse than they were even before he was elected. It’s time to get rid of him once and for all.

That said, who would run against Walker should there be a successful gathering of signatures to stage a recall election? This is an important consideration, but not one that we need to let stop us as we prepare to oust the corrupt county exec.

  1. That would make a great subject for the next DL. I have a few ideas in mind on who could do a good job at fixing the Ament/Walker disaster.
