Yet another food recall, this time romaine lettuce

The AP reports that “a major California lettuce grower has recalled about 22,000 cartons of romaine lettuce over concerns that the product may be tainted with salmonella.”

A lettuce recall also happened in 2006, albeit then it was due to concerns over E. coli contamination.

This is one thing I don’t have to worry about, at least during the wamer months, as I grow my own lettuce. And about the worst that can happen with that is that you may happen to cut the central stalk in half. Don’t think any harm can come from that, although the white fluid that seeped out looked kind of nasty. It’s pictured below:
