Obama as “witch doctor” — simply unacceptable.

Usually I don’t post about low-brow whacks at public officials. But this just crosses the line. An anti-reform Florida doctor has sent around an email showing President Obama as a “witch doctor.” It’s not funny. It’s not at all appropriate.

Apparently this Dr. McKalip serves on the American Medical Association’s House of Delegates. It’s worth noting that the AMA endorsed the President’s call for reform, which makes me wonder what Dr. McKalip now thinks of that organization. And either way, this does nothing to promote the opinion that reform is somehow bad. It just shows you’re a tasteless idiot.

Update: Dr. McKalip has apologized to President Obama. That is a wise move. Thank you, Dr. McKalip.

Update 2: McKalip has resigned from his posts with the AMA.

  1. Delegates to the American Medical Association are selected through their individual state and specialty societies, and their individual views and actions do not, in any way, represent the official view of the AMA. We condemn any actions or comments that are racist, discriminatory or unprofessional.
