Campaign finance question for Ald. Zielinski

Dear Alderman Zielinski,

Congratulations on your upcoming bid for Lieutenant Governor, the second highest elected office in the state of Wisconsin. As someone who has worked on campaigns, I know the demands and struggles it
imposes on the candidate.

I read your press release with interest, and noted the paragraph which discusses your fundraising efforts:

“Under state law Zielinski can transfer the balance –approximately $50,000 — of his current campaign account to his Lieutenant Governor campaign committee. This is in addition to the $10,000 he raised for the Lieutenant Governor’s race in the first day.”

Congratulations on having such a robust warchest. However, I’m curious as to the origin of this $10,000 raised in the first day. Did this money come from area residents, or from local businesses? Was it from in-state political group, or an out-of-state political group? Or something else entirely?

I look forward to your response.
