The 2010 Daddy/Daughter Dance is fast approaching

Every February for the past four years, I have accompanied my daughter to North Division High School for the Daddy/Daughter Dance. It’s become a great annual tradition for us. Soon we’ll have a whole set of photos going back to our first dance in 2006. (Mayor Barrett was there last year with his daughter, and he was a great sport in the Musical Chairs competition, making it until about the third or fourth round!)

The dance will be on Saturday, February 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. It costs $10.00 per person for residents of the city of Milwaukee, $15.00 per person for non-residents, and $5.00 for each additional person.

“Fathers and daughters of all ages are welcome to attend, and the night includes dancing, games, food, prizes, and a live DJ,” according to the web site.

This event is organized by Milwaukee Recreation, and sponsored by the Milwaukee Fatherhood Initiative.

Milwaukee dads, if you have a young daughter in your family, I highly recommend this event. It’s fun for all everyone, and will make for a special night that your daughter will never forget.
