Tommy! sure liked sticking us with Taxes!

Taxes, taxes, taxes. That Republican manta nearly got replaced by “terrorism” in the past decade. How both Milwaukee and Wisconsin have been labelled “tax hells” by the right bears some examination.

What’s especially curious is that one of the taxes on the southeast corner of the state was given to us by none other than Tommy!

As Jim Rowen noted, the five-county Miller Park sales tax collection has become the latest victim of the Great Recession. According to the Journal Sentinel, the stadium tax will last years longer the length that was first planned because of the recession. We can thank Tommy! for sticking it to us.

And might you recall, long-time dwellers of Wisconsin, how Tommy! sent out big tax rebate checks? Might have felt great at the moment. Our former Great Keader and Deficit Enabler had skipped town just before the bill came due, first working for the George W. Bush administration, then spending six years becoming one of the stars of the D.C. lobbying firms. Curious how his former boss did the same thing, sending big checks in 2001. We’re now paying the price for that, too.

So then, if and when Tommy! decides to run for the U.S. Senate, thus vacating his profitable positions as corporate board member, he’ll have to face the mess he left in his home state. And his financial disclosure forms would be a sight to behold.

Think about it, Tom.
