Remember that coup/revolution in the Asian republic of Kyrgyzstan that I wrote about a few days ago? Recall that I wondered how it would effect the U.S. air base in there? Well, here you go.
“The US has suspended all troop flights to Afghanistan from Kyrgyzstan, where tensions remain after a violent uprising against the president.
“No reason was given for the indefinite suspension of troop flights from the Manas airbase – a decision taken by the US military in Kyrgyzstan. [Emphasis added.]
“The Manas airbase is a key transport hub for US-led operations against the Taliban in Afghanistan.”
