Chris Larson kicks off strong challenge to Plale

It’s official! Milwaukee County Supervisor Chris Larson will challenge state Sen. Jeff Plale in the Democratic primary election this September. As Dan Cody wrote,”Chris is an energetic young politician… who has never ran from tough challenges in his two years as a County Supervisor, and I don’t expect him to stop now.”

I will vouch for that statement. Soon after winning election in 2008, which he did despite being outspent at least by three or four times over, Chris got to work. He led the effort to change how the county’s parks and transit systems were funded, which, if put into effect, would have eased property taxes. Milwaukee County voters approved the measure, sending it to the state legislature for implementation. But, thanks to Plale, the bill died in the state senate.

The deliberate degradation of the quality of life in Milwaukee County by our elected officials must end. We will start that by voting for Chris Larson as the Democratic state senate candidate on September 14, 2010.
