Eat Local Fair, Sat. 21 August @ Milwaukee Urban Ecology Center

This landed in my inbox while I was at Drinking Liberally:

Come on down to the Eat Local Challenge Resource Fair this Saturday Aug. 21st from 10 am to 1 pm at the Urban Ecology Center in Riverside Park.

Gardeners of course know about eating locally. Whether you’re new to the idea of eating locally or you’re a seasoned “locavore who eats locally all year long,” you’ll want to be at this Fair.

On Sat. you’ll find lots of resources available about the many ways you can eat mindfully everyday — and to help you define the challenge for yourself. Our 4th annual Milwaukee Eat Local Challenge will be Sept. 1st – 15th.

Here’s what you can expect:
10:30 – Local food cooking demonstration
11:30 – Presentation: Eating Locally with Your Family
12:15 – Presentation: Eating Locally All Year Round

Information about restaurants that use local ingredients Boswell Books will be selling the book “Plenty,” which will be the topic of our September 14th book discussion. Coupons, cook books, food samples, and information about a variety of food topics.

So, come on down to learn, visit, share what you do & be part of Milwaukee’s 4th Eat Local Challenge.

For more information about the challenge, visit the Eat Local Milwaukee website or contact Jamie Ferschinger at the Urban Ecology Center  • – 414-964-8505
